Kevin and Lisa McKenzie first opened McKenzie's Barbeque in October of 1992 in Huntsville. Upon finishing college at Sam Houston, Kevin decided he and his family would make Huntsville their permanent home and open a barbeque restaurant that became the first McKenzie's Barbeque. The Huntsville location became very popular and had customers coming from areas all around Huntsville. Kevin's younger brother Darin decided in 1995 to join his brother and open a second location of McKenzie's Barbeque in Conroe. Darin and his wife, Kathy quit their jobs, sold their home in Longview and moved to Conroe, just six weeks before their first child was born. McKenzie's is truly a family affair, from their father who helped the boys get started and is currently their #1 back-up man to their mother who is the CPA for all the restaurants and their sister, Shannon who got them their first jobs in a barbeque restaurant when the boys were just teenagers.  (Shannon owns a Bodacious Barbeque Restaurant in Longview, Texas).  Kevin and Darin's wives both help out in the restaurant, as do all the children,  So, if we do not already know you - we, the McKenzie family look forward to meeting you soon.
